Fort Wayne Community Honors Late Brother Through Fundraiser and Local Events
A series of community events and fundraisers in Fort Wayne highlight the city's support and remembrance efforts. Jessica Fuller, owner of Fuller Plants LLC, held a fundraiser called 'Brian’s Birthday' to honor her late brother Brian, who died in 2022 from fentanyl poisoning. The event, which took place on Saturday, raised funds for The Shepherd’s House, with 36% of sales donated, and an anonymous donor matching the amount raised. This marks the fourth year of the fundraiser, which Fuller started shortly after her brother's death, and she plans to continue it annually. Additionally, local organizations participated in various events, including the 'March for Life' organized by Right to Life of Northeast Indiana, and the 2026 Polar Plunge hosted by Special Olympics Indiana. Fort Wayne also experienced several emergencies, such as a house fire on the south side resulting in four hospitalizations, a fatal crash on I-69, and a homicide involving a 19-year-old at local apartments. Other community incidents included a serious crash on U.S. 20 involving two women. The community continues to engage in remembrance, activism, and charity, reflecting a city active in supporting its residents and honoring those lost.
