Epstein-Tied Goldman Sachs Lawyer Received Lavish Gifts, Including $9,400 Hermes Bag
Recent emails reveal that Kathryn Ruemmler, Goldman Sachs' general counsel and former Obama White House counsel, had a close relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, who repeatedly sent her expensive gifts. These included a $9,350 Hermes handbag, a Hermes-branded Apple Watch, and spa treatments at the Four Seasons, which she publicly described as professional associations. Epstein, a convicted sex offender who died in jail in 2019, had re-established himself as a financier with ties to influential circles. Despite her claims of a purely professional relationship, emails show Ruemmler was delighted with Epstein's gifts, and she referred to him as 'Uncle Jeffrey.' Goldman Sachs has stated that Epstein often offered unsolicited favors and gifts to contacts. The emails also indicate that Epstein's housekeeper planned to give Ruemmler a ring, and she received bouquets and luxury accessories over several years. Ruemmler, now a top lawyer at Goldman Sachs, has not responded to requests for comment. The Justice Department is set to release millions of Epstein-related files, some of which may shed further light on Epstein's connections and activities.
