Missing Chicago Teacher Linda Brown: Family, Police Search Near Lakefront as Disappearance Remains Unsolved
Linda Brown, a 53-year-old Chicago Public Schools teacher from Robert Healy Elementary School, has been missing since January 3. Last seen in the area of 3500 S. Lake Park Ave., she was captured on surveillance footage at 3 a.m. getting out of her blue Honda Civic and walking toward Lake Michigan. Her family reports she was heading to an acupuncture appointment but never arrived, and she has not been heard from since. Brown was last seen wearing a black winter hat, a black coat, black pants, and black rubber snow boots. Authorities and her family conducted extensive searches along the lakefront, including 31st Street Beach and Burnham Park, but have yet to locate her. The police released a new image of her from surveillance footage and indicated she might be in need of immediate medical attention. Her husband expressed fear and concern, noting she has a history of mental health issues but has never gone missing before. The school community has been informed, and police are urging anyone with information to contact detectives. Family and volunteers plan to continue searching, emphasizing hope for her safe return.
