Sameer Wankhede sues 'The B***ds of Bollywood' for defamation and national insult
Sameer Wankhede, the ex-NCB officer known for arresting Aryan Khan in 2021, has filed a defamation lawsuit in the Delhi High Court against Shah Rukh Khan's production company Red Chillies Entertainment and Netflix over their series 'The B***ds of Bollywood.' Wankhede claims the series portrays a character resembling him in a false and defamatory manner, damaging his reputation. The lawsuit seeks Rs 2 crore in damages, which Wankhede intends to donate to the Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital. The suit also alleges that the series presents a distorted view of law enforcement, eroding public trust, and includes a scene where a character raises the middle finger after reciting 'Satyamev Jayate,' violating the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971. Wankhede’s case emphasizes that the series is prejudicial and malicious, especially as it relates to the ongoing case involving Aryan Khan. The Delhi High Court is scheduled to hear the case soon.
