Stacie Orrico Files Lawsuit Alleging Sexual Abuse by Former Manager
Christian singer Stacie Orrico has filed a lawsuit against her former manager, Britt Ham, and several record industry entities, alleging years-long sexual abuse beginning at age 14. Orrico, known for hits like '(There’s Gotta Be) More to Life' and 'Stuck,' claims Ham sexually assaulted her multiple times over several years, starting with an incident in Los Angeles in August 2001 when she was 14. The lawsuit states that Ham, who was her manager early in her career, repeatedly abused her and that industry executives and her record label failed to protect her, prioritizing reputation and profits over her safety. Orrico recounts that Ham's abuse escalated, culminating in sexual acts when she was 17, and continued until she ended the relationship at age 18 in 2004. The lawsuit alleges negligence, sexual battery, childhood sexual abuse, and gender violence, and seeks damages and accountability. Orrico, now 39, has spoken out after years of therapy, describing her trauma and ongoing suffering. She emphasizes her desire to fight for others who have been abused in the music industry and church settings.
