Searchlight Pictures announced that 'Super Troopers 3,' a comedy film directed by Jay Chandrasekhar and featuring the original cast including Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, Erik Stolhanske, along with new cast members like Nat Faxon and Chace Crawford, will be released in theaters on August 7, 2026. The film marks the return of the Broken Lizard comedy troupe, who previously released the 2002 original and the 2018 sequel supported by Kickstarter. The franchise centers on a team of stoner New England highway patrol officers known for pranks and games. The new installment will compete with other summer releases such as Universal's 'One Night Only' and an untitled New Line project. The cast also includes Brian Cox and Marisa Coughlan, with Chandrasekhar returning as director. The film's release date was confirmed alongside other upcoming movie releases, including 'Five Nights at Freddy's 2' and 'Housemaid' in December.
